   Biography

The author, Dr. Cathrin Olsen
Dr. Cathrin Olsen holds a Doctorate in Naturology, is a Registered Nurse, and a Member of the American Alternative Medical Association. Her well rounded knowledge, both in the holistic and medical field, provided her with solid foundation through the demanding work with the psychiatric and chemical dependency field. As a Home Health Nurse she specialized in Infusion Therapy: providing chemotherapy, antibiotic therapy and working predominately with Cancer and Aides patients. She then turned her attention to assessing psychiatric patients in their home and being a liaison for hospice working with dying patients as well as their families.

Throughout her professional career, Dr. Olsen noticed an immense correlation between food intake, physical ailment and behavioral patters. Her extensive research in the USA as well as in Europe, especially Germany, has reiterated her findings.

Her real challenge came as her youngest child had enormous difficulty coping with every day life. Dr. Olsen decided to dedicate herself to researching alternative options for ADD, ADHD and medication use.

Her determination and diligent work has cumulated in a delightful and very informative book "Is this Really my Child?" in which she focuses on "temperamentally difficult children. The author provides a refreshing innovative approach as well as profound assistance to parents dealing with their children. Dr. Olsen does not believe in labeling children as ADD and ADHD, as a result referring to these children as temperamentally difficult.

Dr. Olsen has volunteered her time at the Battered Women Shelters, Women Health Groups, Parents Teacher Associations, Youth organizations, and has functioned as a Family Liaison for the US Navy.

Dr. Olsen lives in Coronado, California with her husband, 5 children and their Golden Retriever.
